Manager, Graphic Services (Full-time / Toronto)

Hain Celestial Canada, a division of the US-based Hain Celestial Group, is a leading organic and natural products company with operations in North America, Europe and India. We provide consumers with superior food and personal care products for a healthier way of life.  We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of GRAPHIC SERVICES MANAGER.

The Graphic Services Manager is responsible for managing and executing internal brand and graphic design projects for Hain-Celestial Canada. Ensuring on-time execution, flawless production artwork, ready for turnover to various printers for a variety of Marketing and Corporate initiatives.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment, which requires the candidate to be highly organized and able to work well under pressure.


• Graphic design -  print related materials (packaging, advertising, brochures, sell sheets, posters, POP, digital) - 70%
• Project Management - 25%
• Maintain Workflow Systems - 5%

Graphic Design (70%)

• Design, production and maintenance of marketing assets including but not limited to: packaging, print advertising, print-ready collateral material, web and digital graphics
• Participate in internal briefing meetings and pre-production meetings with internal teams as required
• Brainstorm and implement creative concepts consistent with brand strategies
• Oversee printer proof and printing process to ensure colors of graphics match with brand aesthetics
• Source freelancer designers and provide creative direction and support as needed
• Establish and actively monitor critical paths
• Ensure all information is correct and thorough, prior to artwork going out for approvals
• Communicate with Marketing regularly throughout the project
• Utilize relevant software to create and or modify digital files
• Provide hard copy proofs or PDF’s for approval circulation and sign off
• Manage photography/illustration process (securing artists, estimates, shoot dates, product delivery, call sheet, set up preproduction meeting)
• Assure smooth project transition from the design phase to the production phase; interact with
Package Engineering, Print Production Manager & Production Partners to ensure smooth workflow
• Working as part of a team with brand managers, key account managers, other designers, printers and agencies

Project Management (25%)

• Manage the flow of incoming projects, timelines and information into the project management tool
• Provide daily communications to the marketing teams and Manager about project status
• Manages graphic design projects to ensure timely completion of objectives and deliverables
• Proactively organize work-flow to meet deadlines
• Exercise time management skills and ensure smooth execution of projects (both internal and external)
• Efficiently prioritize various internal needs to ensure timely action
• Anticipate challenges and prioritize effectively
• Strive to provide knowledge and deliver service which exceeds expectation
• Gain confidence of internal staff and external partner teams throughout consistent attention to detail, good judgment and people skills
• Ensure tone and manner used with suppliers is professional and in keeping with the company’s guiding principles

Maintain Workflow Systems (5%)

• Utilize all Hain-Celestial communication forms to ensure project related information is stored in Hain database (briefs, project management tool, etc.)
• Preparation of project timelines and revise as the scope of a project changes
• Provide change orders to Managers
• Monitor design and production hours on Project Management System
• Source quotes for outside services as required; illustration, photography, prepress, sales sample printing, and mock-ups
• Ensure thorough documentation of information
• Maintain accurate records and filing systems (physical and digital) for ease of future reference
• Maintain and organize data base / asset management of all art files (Graphics Resource Library)

• Strong Mac skills are necessary, including Internet and email
• Good use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent computer literacy in relevant programs; Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Font management software
• Excellent project management skills, with a strong attention to detail from concept development through production for flawless end results
• Familiarity with team-based project management software (i.e. Asana) and graphics project management tools (i.e. Blue)
• Excellent knowledge of typography and design principles
• Strong knowledge of the principles of package design, editorial design as well as promotional and advertising design
• Excellent knowledge of die lines, Health Canada mandatories, government guidelines and copy regulations
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent time management ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure
• Ability to multitask on many different projects at the same time
• Ability to be flexible to changing requirements
• Excellent understanding of priority projects
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Ability to work independently or work well within a team environment
• Ability to take direction and proactively see tasks to completion


• Completion of post-secondary education from a certified Graphics Program
• Bachelors of Design and/or specifically a Graphics Design degree an asset
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within an agency or in-house design studio environment
